The Extrusion Process

- out of synthetic granules we make monofilaments

Extrusion

Our own extrusion department enables us to process synthetic granules into monofilaments.

Three installations are available for the extrusion of saran®, a further one for the extrusion of PA, PP, PE and PVDF.

The manufacture of KUGAFIL®, the yarn enclosed in a coat, receives special emphasis. Just for this alone we have two coating plants which can be deployed to apply coatings of PA-

glue yarn adhesive, FEP, PFA, PP, PVC or PU to the widest variety of core materials.

Naturally, we also coat materials which come from customers and can supply individual threads for a very wide diversity of uses.

Production of monofilaments

Core wires from 0.15 - 1.50 mm or 55 - 13.300 dtex are covered with a coat of 1.0 - 1.20 mm thickness, which should make up at least 50% of the whole thread.

Flexibly-installed extruders make the production of smaller and medium-size batches possible - from 150 kg in any colour requested by our customers, made up on re-usable disc spools in the sizes K200, K250 and K355.

The dimensions currently available for supply are:

  from to
PA 0,25 1,40
PE 0,20 2,50
PP 0,15 0,50
PVDC (saran®) 0,17 1,40
PVDF 0,15 0,50
